Sound Business Solutions Blog Benefits of Outsourcing Your Bookkeeping

Benefits of Outsourcing Your Bookkeeping

In my last post, I talked about 9 benefits of bookkeeping for small business owners. In today’s post, let’s take a look at the benefits of outsourcing your bookkeeping.

In no particular order, following are the primary benefits I see:

You get unbiased opinions and advice.
A lot of times, an internal bookkeeper or accountant is emotionally invested in the business and that can get in the way of them delivering objective opinions and advice.

You often get more and pay less.
You can get more when outsourcing to someone that can keep the books and do higher level accounting and business analysis. Often times, an internal bookkeeper on the payroll does not have this kind of expertise.

By outsourcing your bookkeeping you only pay for the work done.

You also will save on payroll taxes and any other benefits you may be providing.

Other benefits:
You don’t have to manage this person and you don’t have to spend time rehiring and retraining when your bookkeeper leaves.

For the business owners who are doing the books themselves, by outsourcing, you give yourself more time to work on your business.

And for those of you in a partnership and one partner is doing the books, outsourcing this function helps you to avoid any conflict of interest.

Those are the benefits I see. Let me know in the comments what you think.
